ALISTAIR DAYNES
Managing Director of Learn BIomimicry and Co-Founder of ReWild Africa
Alistair Daynes is an organisational builder, focused on blending creativity, business and the genius of the natural world.
He began his entrepreneurial journey in Cape Town, on a year-long assignment as the Lead Google Trekker, showcasing +180 of South Africa’s hiking trails. This new-age pilgrimage to the wildest spaces sparked a question - what are the key solutions to ecological restoration?
ReWild Africa was founded as a film company with a curiosity to find and shine a light on climate and ecological solutions. ReWild has travelled extensively to meet individuals and organisations. From the Okavango Delta to the southernmost tip of Patagonia, Alistair met leaders, innovators and those at the frontline of conservation. One such character was Claire Janisch, who introduced Alistair to the world of biomimicry. Out of every solution and innovation witnessed, Alistair settled on biomimicry as the ideal solution for innovating a sustainable world. Shortly after, ReWild teamed up with Jess and Claire, and the rest as we say... is history.
