Arnold Meyer
Executive Chairman at Nianova
Arnold was born and raised in Johannesburg and matriculated from Randburg High school in 1989 and studied Organisation and Worsktudy at the Technikon Witwatersrand (University of Johannesburg) and in 2002 completed an MBA at De Montfort University, Leicester.
Arnold has spent his career in various aspects of the property industry. Starting of as a clerk with RMB Properties and becoming a shopping centre manager with the same organisation in 1998.
In 2000 Arnold went on to join Domayne (old Anglo-American Property Services) which was absorbed by Broll Property Group. At Broll Arnold was portfolio manager for listed property funds and become COO of the group in 2002 and soon afterwards CEO. During Arnold's tenure Broll became the largest property services provider in South Africa with staff of 2000. During 2004 Arnold launched Broll in Namibia and Nigeria followed by Ghana and several other countries. During this period Arnold served on the Board of Tinapa Free Tarde Zone in Nigeria and concluded an affiliate agreement between Broll and CBRE (a Fortune 500 and the world largest real estate group). This venture created Africa’s largest real estate company.
After Broll, Arnold assisted with the privatisation of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront to Dubai World and London & Regional. Arnold also acted as the V&A Waterfront interim CEO during 2006/2007.
From 2008 to 2013, Arnold was founder and CEO of Rendeavour, part of the Moscow Investment Bank, Renaissance Capital. Under Arnold’s tenure Rendeavour became Africa's largest land bank developer with new urban mixed-use developments in DRC, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Zambia. Tatu City - Nairobi, Roma Park – Lusaka, Appolonia – Accra, King City – Kumasi, Jigna and Alaro cities in Nigeria.
Arnold consulted to African and Middle East real estate funds and groups before joining Oppenheimer Generations in 2018 as Executive Chairman for Tswalu. As of 2020 Arnold is Executive Chairman of Nianova, responsible for South Africa’s largest private nature reserve; Tswalu Kalahari, Fireblade Aviation, Niarra Travel, and a tech SaaS company Weeva Solutions. Arnold is also represents Nianova’s investment in Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen’s culinary group.
